Club training is starting back on November 4th with sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Monday session will alternate between Strength & Conditioning and Turbo. Monday 4th we will kick off with a strength & conditioning session and Monday 11th will be a Turbo and vice versa until December 16th.
Strength & Conditioning will be a great way to get you all up and running with the wide range of equipment we have available to us in the club rooms.
Members need to have completed the gym induction in order to take part in strength & conditioning, please get in touch if you do not have this done so we can arrange an induction for you.
For bike sessions, members who have their own turbos should bring them as there are a limited amount of turbo’s available. We will be including a 15 minute stretching session after each turbo also.
Both sessions will start promptly at 7pm. Arrive at 6:50 pm at the latest to leave enough time to get signed in and set up and ready for the 7pm start.
Wednesdays will be coached swim sessions at 9pm in Roscommon pool, from Wed 6th until December 18th . Please be signed in and in the water by 9pm sharp. Swim sessions are €6 per person per week.
There will be an opportunity for a coached swim technique session with Elaine Lally at 8pm before pool sessions start. Places are limited to 10 per session so please let me know if you are interested in attending.
Friday will be coached run sessions with Brendan Doyle at the track in Lanesboro at 7:30pm, from Friday 8th until 20th December. Please arrive before 7.20pm to sign on and be ready to run by 7.30pm sharp.
The club will arrange a VO2 testing day with Health Matters. The club has worked with Health matters previously a few years ago. This test can be done on bike or run/ treadmill. The VO2 test gives important data which determines your heart rate training zones. These zones are invaluable in training and particularly for anyone looking to do long distances.
Testing will be carried out over a Saturday in the club rooms, at a cost of €60 per person. Minimum numbers are required. Possible dates are end of November or early as possible in January next year.
