This year, the 20×20 campaign aims to “create a cultural shift in our perception of girls and women in sport”. The campaign has set the following targets:
- a 20% increase in media coverage of women in sport
- a 20% increase in female participation at all levels of sport
- a 20% increase in attendance at women’s games and events
Lanesboro Triathlon Club wholeheartedly supports these goals and now have 50% female membership and an equal representation at committee level.
The club organised Two Provinces Triathlon race has always had great female participation. We can think of no better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary race than welcoming an even larger proportion of female athletes – maybe even the largest female participation of any race this year?
